Yucca is a cane-like plant with large leaves, a fibrous, segmented stem and flower clusters that resemble large pineapples. The leaves can reach two feet long and one foot wide. Yucca grows in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 3 through 11. The plant spreads by both rhizomes, which are horizontal stems that grow underground, and offsets or plant suckers. You can use these methods to propagate yucca plants in your garden.
