Germander – Teucrium chamaedrys, is a low growing herbaceous perennial with soft, ferny foliage. Its deep green leaves are strongly aromatic and used to flavor breads, sausages and teas. The flowers are small and white with a yellow center. Germander can be used in herb gardens for borders, mass plantings or in rock gardens.
Another plant that I wish I could grow more successfully is germander. This is because once it begins to flower, from around the middle of July onwards, it makes a very attractive border. The flowers are a delicate pink (some would say purple) colour and they have an interesting texture, looking almost furry.
