Erigeron is a genus of herbaceous perennial flowering plants in the family Asteraceae. It includes about 150 species, distributed over most of the northern hemisphere. The majority are native to North America but with additional species native to Eurasia and South America.
Some 200 species of fleabanes are found in North America. Fleabanes are closely related to composite family plants and have similar characteristics. Fleabanes are native to the United States and Canada, but most have been introduced in other parts of the world. The plants are found in various types of climate and soils. They are commonly known as daisies because of their ray flowers that look like petals.
